Xbox One users just enjoyed enjoyed a system update and now its time for PlayStation 4 users. Update 1.70 will be available soon and it is being considered a "significant" update. Here is what we know so far about the update...
One of the main features of the update is ShareFactory. It is a new video editor app that makes it easy to customize your gameplay videos. You will now be able to easily combine your captured video clips for editing, personalize them with special effects using filters, transitions, and themes, as well as share them with your friends and social networks. SHAREfactory also allows you to personalize your videos by adding text, stickers, and a set of included audio tracks, as well as video commentary with picture-in-picture capability with PlayStation Camera. It also allows you to import your original music to add to the custom soundtrack for your video. This will be similar to UPLOAD that is currently on the Xbox One. So to be clear, you will be able to take your videos and share them through social media such as Facebook, or you can save them to a USB and take them anywhere.
The 1.70 update will allow you switch off HDCP, enabling you to capture video directly from your HDMI output so you can record and share longer clips of your gameplay sessions. This is something a lot of users have been requesting. This update is supposed to be based heavily off feedback from the community so this is part of that.
The 1.70 update will add features to make it faster to play the games you pre-order with an auto pre-download capability. This will allow you to pre-download your select pre-ordered game up to several days prior to release. As soon as the game is unlocked on release day, you will be able to play! That is a pretty cool feature as you will be able to be playing games right at exact midnight when they come out if you wish to.
